Apartment at French Quarter
Modern style is defined by "form follows function" and "less is more". It innovates and experiments with abstracted volumes, lines and colors.
In this apartment, the focus is on materials and technology, on essentialized and functional forms. The beauty of modernism lies in the power of functionality, not in unnecessary decorations.

Implementation
Modernist philosophy reveals rationalism, individualism, science, faith in progress and a certain ambivalence about emotions.
This modern concept has been adapted to the space of the apartment: in the center of the living room is a construction with a TV and a fireplace with a hidden compartment for the media. A visible storage is inserted on the other side. The Eames lounge chair is a statement of modernism placed in the middle of the room.
One of the libraries hides a radiator, being the inspiration for the striped panels from the rest of the design. The shape that embraces the function follows all the details of the project. The versatility of the wood is used to mask the storages, while the structure of the beams and pillars is left visible and even marked, as in the main bedroom. The lighting fixtures, together with the comfortable furniture, calms the rational atmosphere, making the space easy to live in.
The apartment is divided into living room, kitchen, 2 bedrooms, office, 3 bathrooms and terrace.

• Fireplace working on water, decorative PMMA panels which resembles with natural stones
• Home automation system: light scenarios, control over home heating and cooling, burglary systems, home safety in case of floods, fires or electrical hazards, all controlled by smartphone app.

A design that may seem minimal, but that hides surprising technology.
